About DebtFreeMinds

We are not a bank. We are not a loan company. We are Nigerians who understand what loan app debt really does to a person — and we built something to help.

"A friend borrowed N30,000 from a loan app to cover an emergency. Three weeks later, the app had sent messages to his entire contact list including his employer calling him a fraudster."

That phone call changed the direction of what I was building professionally. My friend had not disappeared with the money. He had not refused to pay out of malice. He had simply fallen behind by a few days during one of the most difficult periods of his life and the response from the loan app was swift, calculated, and devastating.

What struck me most was not the harassment itself. It was that he had no idea what his rights were. He did not know the FCCPC existed. He did not know the harassment was illegal. He did not know who to call, where to report, or how to begin addressing the situation. He just absorbed it in silence, with shame, the way millions of Nigerians do every single day.

That silence is what DebtFreeMinds was built to break.

Our Mission

Giving Every Nigerian Borrower the Information They Deserve

Our mission is to give every Nigerian regardless of income level, education, or background, access to the financial education, practical tools, and honest information they need to overcome debt, understand their rights as borrowers, and build long-term financial stability.

We believe financial ignorance is not a personal failing. It is a systemic gap. Most Nigerians were never taught how compound interest works, how to read a loan agreement, or what to do when a lender crosses the line. DebtFreeMinds exists to close that gap.

How We Work

Our Research and Content Process

Every article, guide, and tool published on DebtFreeMinds is built on a deliberate research process. We do not publish content based on opinion alone. We analyse multiple sources before writing anything that will influence how a reader makes a financial decision.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

These four values shape every article we write, every tool we build, and every decision we make about what to publish and how to say it.

01

Honesty Without Compromise

We will not tell you what you want to hear if it is not true. We will not recommend a product or service we do not genuinely believe in. If something is risky, we say so clearly.

02

Financial Education for All

Financial literacy should not be a privilege. Every Nigerian deserves access to clear, practical financial education regardless of their income, background, or education level.

03

Borrower Rights Matter

Nigerian borrowers have legal rights that are routinely violated by predatory lenders. We believe understanding those rights is the first step to exercising them — and we make sure our readers know them.

04

Responsible Debt Management

We never glamorise debt, but we never shame borrowers either. Debt is a reality for most people at some point in their lives. What matters is managing it responsibly and recovering with dignity.

Zacheaus Fisayo
Founder, DebtFreeMinds

Zacheaus Fisayo studied Business Administration at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. My academic background in business finance, combined with years of observing how financial stress affects everyday Nigerians, led me to build DebtFreeMinds as a free, accessible resource for anyone navigating the difficult intersection of debt, personal finance, and mental wellbeing in Nigeria. I believes that access to honest financial information should not depend on how much money you already have.

Your Financial Future Starts With One Decision

The decision to stop suffering in silence. To get informed. To take back control. DebtFreeMinds is here for every part of that journey.
